FAQ

Can I start from 0?+

Yes — the start number is free-form. Negative numbers work too.

Which separators are supported?+

Anything you type — periods (.), colons (:), brackets, etc. Examples: '1. item', '1) item', '[1] item'.

What is digit padding?+

Pads numbers with leading zeros — 01, 02, 03 instead of 1, 2, 3. Aligns better in lists.

Are empty lines numbered?+

Pick between skipping or including empty lines via an option.

Reverse numbering?+

Forward only for now. To reverse, flip line order with [Text Reverse] first, then number.

Good for Excel row numbers?+

Excel's ROW() function may be easier, but this tool is fast for external data without formulas.
