FAQ

Does it cover every Hanja?+

It's based on a 600-character common-use dictionary. Unmapped characters are left as-is, but most everyday Hanja are included.

What if a Hanja has multiple readings?+

The most common reading is shown. For context-sensitive readings, check a dictionary. E.g., '樂' is '락' (joy) or '악' (music).

Good for converting Hanja names?+

Yes — '金哲秀' → '김철수'. Some rare name-specific Hanja may be missing, so confirm with a dictionary.

Korean vs Chinese readings?+

Only Korean readings are shown. For Chinese pinyin, you'll need a separate tool.

Why only 600?+

About 1,800 Hanja appear in everyday Korean use; the 600 most frequent are included first. More to come in future updates.

Useful for Hanja proficiency exam prep?+

Most level 8–5 Hanja characters are covered. Level 4 and above need additional dictionaries.
