FAQ

What is weekly holiday allowance (주휴수당)?+

Paid rest pay for workers averaging 15+ hours/week. It's automatically included in the 209-hour basis when converting hourly → monthly.

What is the 2026 minimum wage?+

The current Korean minimum wage is shown in the tool (for reference).

Where does 209 hours come from?+

40 hours × work + 8 hours weekly paid rest = 48 hours/week. Monthly average 4.345 weeks × 48 ≈ 209 hours. Standard full-time basis.

What about part-time (< 40h/week)?+

Enter weekly hours directly. A 25-hour part-time job: enter 25. Under 15 hours/week, there's no weekly holiday allowance.

Does it calculate net (after tax)?+

This tool is gross conversion only. For net after social insurance and income tax, use the [Korean Net Salary Calculator].

Are night/overtime premiums included?+

Only base hourly wage. Night (22:00–06:00), overtime (over 40h/week), and holiday work get 1.5× the regular rate separately.
