FAQ
Is text inside tables extracted too?+
No. Only body paragraph text is extracted right now. Text inside table cells, headers/footers, footnotes, and text boxes is skipped because the HWP parser library in use does not expose a way to read it. If you need table contents, convert with the [HWP → PDF] tool and then run [PDF text extract], or use “Save As → Text Document” in Hancom Office.
What about images or shapes?+
Images and shapes themselves aren't extracted (they're not text). But text typed inside shapes is included.
How are line breaks handled?+
Each paragraph in the source becomes a line break. Pages are separated by a blank line.
Is formatting (color, bold, alignment) preserved?+
No. This tool extracts plain text, so all formatting is stripped. If you need formatting, use the [HWP to PDF] tool instead.
Can I use the result with ChatGPT or a translator?+
Yes. The output is plain text, so any AI or translation service handles it fine, including mixed Korean/Hanja/English content.
Does it work on password-protected HWP files?+
Currently no. Remove the password in Hancom Office first, then try again.
