FAQ
KB vs KiB?+
KB (kilobyte, SI) = 1000 B; KiB (kibibyte, IEC) = 1024 B. Hard drives use SI; RAM and OS often use IEC.
Why does my 1TB drive show 931GB?+
Manufacturers use SI (1TB = 10¹²B); Windows uses IEC (1024-based) for display, making it look smaller. Both are correct.
MB vs Mb?+
MB (megabyte, capital B) = 8 Mb (megabit, lowercase b). Internet speeds (100Mbps) are bits; file sizes are bytes.
Which convention is used in Korea?+
Legally SI (1KB=1000B), but computer fields often use IEC (1024-based). Mixed usage is common.
Google Drive vs Windows display?+
Google Drive uses SI (GB); Windows Explorer uses IEC (GiB). The same file can display different numbers.
Does it support ZB (zettabytes)?+
