FAQ
How loud can I go without distortion?+
Above +6dB risks clipping (distortion). +3dB is generally safe.
What is dB?+
Decibel โ a volume unit. +6dB โ double the volume; -6dB โ half. Quiet lecture audio often improves with +3~6dB.
Can I match volume across files?+
Currently one file at a time. Automated 'normalize' across multiple files isn't built in โ adjust each manually.
Can I auto-maximize quiet audio?+
If a normalize option is offered, it sets the peak near 0dB. For precise loudness (LUFS), use a pro editor.
Does it hurt quality?+
Lossless formats (WAV, FLAC) stay intact. Lossy formats (MP3) re-encode with minor loss.
