Do I use tips in Korea?+
Korea generally doesn't have tipping culture. Only hotel restaurants with included service charges sometimes get extra. Mostly used when traveling abroad.
What's the standard tip rate in US restaurants?+
Casual dining 15~20%, fine dining 20~25%, delivery 10~15%. Give more for great service.
What about Europe?+
Italy, France etc. often include service charges, so 5~10% extra is plenty. UK around 12.5%. Germany 5~10%.
Taxi and Uber tips?+
In the US, 10~15% is typical. Uber lets you add tip in the app. Korea doesn't tip.
Is it rude to skip the tip?+
Very rude in the US. Unless service is truly terrible, give at least 10~15%. Europe is more relaxed.
How to enter tip when paying by card?+
Write the amount in the 'Tip' line on the receipt and add up the total. Some terminals let you pick a percentage on screen.
