FAQ
What's the Pomodoro Technique?+
Named after the tomato-shaped kitchen timer ('pomodoro' in Italian). The basic cycle is 25 minutes of focus + 5 minutes of rest, balancing concentration and breaks.
Why 25 minutes?+
Research suggests average sustained focus is around 25–30 minutes. A short, clear target lowers the barrier to starting. Adjust the duration to your pace.
Notifications aren't working.+
Check that you allowed browser notifications (a permission prompt appears on first start). Audio still plays even if the tab is in the background.
Does it stop if I close the tab?+
Yes — it's browser-based. Keep the tab open. On mobile, keep the screen on.
When is the long break?+
By default after every 4 cycles (≈2 hours of work) — 15 minutes long. Use it for lunch or a walk.
What if I can't focus?+
Adjust the environment — silence notifications, put your phone away, use headphones with white noise. If even 25 minutes feels too long, start with 15/3 and increase gradually.
