FAQ
Will the original quality be lost?+
Compression is lossy. Your original file stays untouched — if you don't like the result, just bump the quality up and try again.
Does it compress PNGs too?+
PNG is lossless, so the gains are minimal. To significantly shrink a PNG, convert to JPG or WebP.
Can I batch compress multiple images?+
Currently one image at a time. For multiple, use the [image batch] tool or upload them sequentially.
What quality level should I use?+
For web and messenger use, 70–80% looks nearly identical with files cut by more than half. For print or archive, 90%+ is recommended.
My photos exceed the 25MB email attachment limit.+
Compressing or resizing (under 1920px wide) usually solves it. If not, zip the files or share a cloud link.
Will transparency be lost in PNGs?+
PNG-to-PNG compression preserves transparency. But converting to JPG or lossy WebP will fill transparent areas with white.
