FAQ

Which scale should I use?+

Most Korean universities use 4.5 (SNU, Hanyang, Ewha, etc.); US schools use 4.0; Yonsei/Korea Univ. use 4.3.

For US grad school applications?+

WES and ECE convert Korean GPA into US 4.0 form. This calculator does a simple proportional conversion — reference only.

How are retakes counted?+

Most schools record the new grade and exclude the previous one from GPA. Always check your school's policy.

Pass/No Pass (P/NP)?+

Usually excluded from GPA. Credits count, but grade doesn't. Common for challenging courses or electives.

Major GPA only?+

Pick only major courses to compute. Some grad schools and employers weigh major GPA more heavily.

Is the percentage conversion exact?+

It's a simple proportional conversion and may differ from actual scores. For precision, use the converted percentage shown on your transcript.
