FAQ

Is this an official handicap?+

Official handicaps (GHIN, KGA) require association registration and verified rounds. This tool estimates for personal reference.

What's the USGA method?+

USGA standard: average of the best 8 of your last 20 rounds × 0.96 = handicap index.

Handicap 0 means what?+

A scratch golfer. Averages around par (72) per round. Top 1~2% of players.

What's a bogey golfer's handicap?+

About 18~22 — averages bogey pace.

How many rounds for reliability?+

Minimum 5, recommended 10~20. Fewer rounds get swung by single great/poor rounds.

Do you just use raw scores (e.g., 92)?+

It uses the differential — score adjusted for course difficulty (rating, slope). The tool calculates automatically.
